Developing effective assessment items can be time-consuming. That’s where the ARC Project comes in. The ARC Project supports cybersecurity educators by providing two resources developed by educators and subject matter experts.
Resource #1: Our Curriculum and Assessment Guides are designed to help educators create robust curricula and high-quality assessment items. These guides are grounded in a foundational cybersecurity education framework, specifically ACM’s Supplement to CSEC 2017, ensuring alignment with recognized standards in the field.
Resource #2: Our Item Banks will soon include over 1,000 assessment items that are aligned to the Curriculum and Assessment Guides.
Curriculum and Assessment Guides and the MC Item Bank are currently available for your use. Teacher focus groups are convening this fall to review the materials. We plan to have updates and additions, so please check back next month too!
Foundational Cybersecurity Learning Outcomes
The ARC Curriculum and Assessment Guides are based on the six knowledge areas (Data Security, System Security, Network Security, Organizational Security, Software Security, and Societal Security) and 74 corresponding learning outcomes in the 2025 CSEC Supplement.
CSEC provides guidance on the content for a foundational cybersecurity course or sequence that supports articulation among secondary and postsecondary institutions.
