Cyber House Rock Website and Video Series

The Cyber House Rock website and video series bring cybersecurity education to life for K-12 students, educators, and the general public. Inspired by the iconic Schoolhouse Rock format, this innovative initiative uses catchy songs, vibrant animations, and relatable scenarios to simplify complex cybersecurity concepts, making them easy to understand and memorable.

Developed as part of Iowa State University's Cybersecurity Ambassador Program, Cyber House Rock provides engaging resources for classroom lessons and independent learning. The series addresses many topics, including building strong passwords, identifying phishing attempts, and understanding email security, ensuring its appeal across all age groups and learning environments.

Visit Cyber House Rock to explore the videos and resources. Whether you're a teacher looking for classroom tools or an enthusiast aiming to spread cybersecurity awareness, Cyber House Rock provides everything you need to inspire and educate the next generation of digital citizens.

A message from Cyber Ambassador Kyle Kuhlers

The Iowa Statewide Cyber Ambassador program is a great opportunity bringing community and education together to grow Cyber education in our state. The program will help support ideas around visiting retirement centers, or youth STEM festivals. It is a resource for ideas and collaboration connecting Iowans to build a secure future.

In October 2024 the Cyber Ambassadors had the first statewide Iowa Youth Cyber Summit featuring lockpicking, a panel of Cyber Professionals (including 2 pen-testers), and Cyber post-secondary opportunities. The planning for 2025 is underway. Students from Davenport, Des Moines, Waterloo, Grundy Center, New Hampton, Osage, and more participated, it was a great day of collaboration and learning.
