Cybersecurity Accreditation Guidelines Update Call for Feedback

October 10, 2024

Teach Cyber Byte

Do you currently teach a high school cybersecurity course for college credit or hope to in the future?? If so, we need your input!

DARK Enterprises is a part of a committee that is identifying the essential cybersecurity knowledge that would be included in a foundational cybersecurity course. Such a foundational course could be an advanced cybersecurity course in high school or an introductory cybersecurity course in college.

We have developed a working draft that includes:
  • knowledge areas,
  • topics,
  • learning outcomes,
  • cross cutting concepts, and
  • instructional guidance
The draft is derived from a comprehensive analysis of the CSEC 2017 accreditation guidelines. Once finalized and published, colleges and universities will use this guideline as they develop introductory cybersecurity courses in their majors and minors.

If you teach a high school cybersecurity course for college credit, we are very interested in your review and feedback.

We expect this will take you 15-20 minutes to review: https://drive.google.com/file/d/1ZgmNTLlWr2_4c9sVlk3NwYFXdwYY2ZZa/view
Provide your feedback using this survey: https://www.surveymonkey.com/r/CSEC_Update_PeerReview_Round2.

The deadline to submit your feedback is November 10.
